HOLIDAY HOUSE 2025

Since 1956 our club has been proud to host Holiday House. The members of FMWCC are excited to bring this timeless, treasured Southwest Florida tradition to life once more in a new and exciting fashion.

This holiday season we're decking the halls, or more specifically the windows, of First Street in our picturesque historic downtown river district as well as the historic Langford Kingston Home in partnership with the Uncommon Friends Foundation.  We will be supporting literacy through the storefront windows in partnership with Believe N Books.

IMPORTANT DETAILS

We will be decorating the first floor, porch,

staircase and top of stairs at the Langford

Kingston Home in partnership with the

Uncommon Friends Foundation. We will be

featuring our Tied Up in Traditions theme.

We will be decorating the wreath that will hang outside of the Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center.  We will also host an art gallery in the lobby featuring art from Lee County School Students as well as our Holiday Literacy book displays.  In the foyer there will be a special tree decorated in an around the world theme reminiscent of the book Joy to the World Christmas Around the Globe by Kate DePalma & Sophie Fatus.

We have donated wreaths to the Edison Ford Winter Estates. You can purchase them at the historic location's gift shop. All proceeds from the wreaths will benefit the Estates directly. Leanne Luehrman, Chair kindly donated ornaments for each wreath so the purchasers recognize our group! Thank you to the many volunteers who have donated their time, talent & treasures making wreaths.

Is Holiday House at the Burroughs Home  this year? Due to construction for Hurricane repairs, the Burroughs Home is unable to accept visitors or decorations of any kind. We are hopeful to be there next year to show the house in it's restored historic glory!

When does Holiday House end? We kick off this year's event Tuesday, December 3 and will run until January. Holiday House will be available to the public, free of charge, for the entirety of the Christmas season!

Will there be any place for Santa pictures? FMWCC is pleased to share that Santa will be paying a visit to the Candy Cane Lane pocket park on Saturday, December 13 at 3:30-5:30pm. Visits are free and the event begins with storybook time at 3pm. We are hosting a book drive to benefit Believe N' Books , a 501(c)(3) out of Estero - founded in 2021 by  a local eighth grader, who still runs it today as a college freshman ; we encourage you to bring a new or gently used book, from infant to young adult, with you to your visit.

Where do I park? We encourage you to enjoy the entirety of the event so there is no designated Holiday House parking. Garages are easily accessible and metered street parking is available throughout the river district. When attending after 5 or weekends, parking is free on the streets.  There is free parking available at the Langford Kingston Home.

Meet Holly!
She is our special friend this year. The contest begins
December 3 and ends January 1. A prize package including $100 from the Franklin Shoppes, $100 from local merchants and a storybook will be given to the winner.  Mrs. Sue Bennett Grimes will choose the winner randomly from the email entries. Mrs. Grimes is our 90 year old member who has been involved in Holiday House since she was a child. Her MOTHER began the program in Fort Myers back in 1956.
We are grateful for her participation!
